Find and Treat All of Your Symptoms At The Source of the Issues
ABOUT US
Many times there are underlying things like whiplash or concussion, in addition to body pain and soreness after an accident. It is sometimes difficult for patients to tell what all is going on and, if there are insurance and attorneys involved, not knowing these things in the beginning can be frustrating and problematic for patients down the road. We use a combination of Functional Neurology, Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), and Orthopedic Rehabilitation to properly diagnose and treat the real issues behind your symptoms. Ever heard the saying 'a hammer always sees a nail'? Our doctors will collaborate and examine you through several lenses to treat your pain for how it actually needs to be treated, rather than just for the one thing we do. If we aren't the right doctors for you, we will be upfront about it. We have an excellent referral network and will get you to the right place quickly.

If you’ve had a concussion, whiplash, traumatic brain injury or body pain, and are still having symptoms, you’ve found the right place.

How We Can Help

Our doctors can examine to determine the areas that you need help with. We can provide brain rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, gaze stability, and more for TBI or post-concussion symptoms. In addition, our doctors can treat using re-positioning maneuvers and vestibular rehabilitation for dizziness/vertigo symptoms. They can also provide physiotherapy, chiropractic adjustments, myofascial release, rapid release therapy, even cold laser treatment for body aches, pain, and injuries.

See Us First

With the exception of a visit to the ER/Urgent Care immediately following your accident, you’ll want to see us as soon as possible. Dr. Harcourt and Dr. Perman are experts in examining and treating any symptoms you’re having and will refer to another specialist when necessary. They will quarterback your case to make sure you get the exact care and attention that you need for your situation.

We Will Work With Your Attorney

Depending on the case, typically either your car insurance or the other driver’s insurance will pay for your medical treatment. We will work on a lien with your attorney, which means you don’t pay out-of-pocket for your treatment.

Don’t Have An Attorney?

If needed, we are happy to refer you to one of our most trusted attorneys. If an attorney is not needed, we are happy to work with your insurance agent. Different situations require different approaches. We are happy to help you navigate this as it can sometimes be confusing.

FNOR (Functional Neuro-Orthopedic Rehabilitation):

A Unique, Modern Approach to Rehabilitation

FNOR is a combination of neuroscience, physical therapy, biotechnology and pain management. It offers non-invasive solutions to stubborn, treatment-resistant post-surgical pain, as well as a range of common orthopedic conditions including:

  • Back/Neck Pain
  • Arm and Shoulder Conditions (e.g. rotator cuff injury, frozen shoulder, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, golfers elbow.)

  • Hip and Leg Problems (e.g. IT band syndrome, hip arthritis and pain, knee pain, runners knee, Achilles tendon pain, plantar fasciitis.

Because the FNOR system addresses body and brain, it is also used to rehabilitate those who have suffered from serious injuries including:

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

A Non-Invasive Treatment for Body Pain and Inflammation

Cold Laser Therapy precisely targets pain centers. It reduces inflammation while promoting bio-stimulation at a cellular level in the musculoskeletal point of the pain’s origination. It does not produce heat and is completely painless. It works great with or without other treatments, but combined with our other treatments, it is a very powerful treatment for your pain.

Targeted Relief: LLLT goes to work on the precise location of the pain’s origin. Unlike invasive surgery or prescription medications that can have harmful side effects on other organs in the body, LLLT's ability to precisely target and treat pain centers means the only action that occurs during treatment is the painless bio-stimulation of the affected areas. This, in turn, will leave your body better able to recover and return to an active lifestyle.

Obvious Choice: At most facilities that offer LLLT, you'd be paying just for that alone. At our offices, we don't charge extra for LLLT! When combined with our cutting-edge treatments, you get LLLT on-the-house. This makes seeing us a no-brainer compared to other facilities. Our #1 goal is to get you pain-free as quickly as possible using the most state-of-the-art treatments available.

How Is Our Treatment Different?
1. Body and Brain Approach

Based on modern research in neuroscience and rehabilitation, our treatment is based on the concept that musculoskeletal injury (i.e. injury to joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments), particularly injury associated with pain that lasts a long time after the injury, most often causes changes in the nervous system (brain and nerves of the body). This is why many patients fail to respond to conventional physical therapy and medical measures that only address the injured or painful area – these limited approaches do not address the changes in the nervous system that result from injury. This might be likened to only removing an infected thumb drive from your computer after the virus it delivered has already infected your system – the thumb drive is where the problem started but it is now only part of a bigger, growing problem. Modern research suggests that chronic pain and injury are very much like this.

We treat the body and brain at the same time through the use of a range of unique techniques. Some look similar to common physical therapy methods and some look very different, but all of our methods are non-invasive.

2. Different Pain Treatment Methods

We like to meet pain head-on! Many patients report that they feel like somebody finally understands their pain and its effects on their life. We utilize a range of non-invasive, modern techniques to treat pain, including the most stubborn forms of chronic pain, including post-surgical pain. In fact, the FNOR system was first developed to treat pain sufferers, many of whom had undergone multiple failed surgeries.

You will likely not recognize many of our non-invasive techniques as being used by any other doctor. Most of these techniques can be directed at the various nerves of the body and limbs (called the peripheral nervous system) and the brain and spinal cord (called the central nervous system.) By going after changes in the nervous system, we aim to reverse the effects of chronic pain on your body, boosting the function of your nervous system rather than just dampening the areas dealing with pain. The result is that following treatment, you are literally a higher functioning individual with an increased capacity for work, performance and function. From day one, our objective is to get you your life back, to get you on your feet (rather than building dependence on yet another therapy), and to show you how to keep going!

We aim to treat the body and brain at the same time, depending on the case.

3. Variety of Techniques & Approaches

If you are a chronic pain sufferer or someone who has seen multiple specialists for your injury, then you have likely seen physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, medical physicians and even surgeons. You probably noticed that each had their own approach to your problem. As with many chronic pain sufferers, you may have found that each of these approaches had some benefit, but none really completely resolved your problem. One of the reasons that many patients have this experience is that while each healthcare discipline and approach has its merits, for most people, their chronic pain and injury requires a multi-pronged approach, involving a range of methods, rather than one-at-a-time. In fact, in many cases, the process of undergoing therapies one-at-a-time, can actually prolong recovery and complicate the problem.

The use of modern technologies allows our doctors to develop unique treatment approaches based on sensitive measures of function. Our doctors are highly trained to confidently deal with rehabilitation of each region of the body in a diverse patient population, ranging from elite, high-performance individuals to highly unstable, complex patients. For many patients, our cutting-edge approach brings the REAL relief that they have been waiting for!
